Comedian W. Kamau Bell of 'Totally Biased' Looks Forward to American Indian Inaugural Ball

In a gesture of recognition to Native people, the host and crew of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell will be stopping in to cover the festivities at this year’s American Indian Society’s 2013 Inaugural Ball. Totally Biased, a politics- and news-oriented late-night comedy and talk show, which is hosted by Bell, airs on Thursday nights at 11pm on the FX network, and is executive-produced by Chris Rock. During the ball, Bell will interview guests of the AIS Inaugural Ball about President Obama, the presidential campaign, and their views on the current state of the nation. Read Vince Schilling's interview with Bell

2013 Lifetime Legacy Award Honorees: Billy Mills, Gay Kingman, Elouise Cobell, and Billy Frank, Jr.

The AIS Lifetime Legacy Award is awarded to a Native American whose life's work has led to the improvement and empowerment of Native Americans through social, political, legal, environmental, or educational initiatives. (see more)

Tex Hall Appointed Honorary Chairman

We're pleased to announce that Tex G. Hall will be joining us as Honorary Chairman of the 2013 American Indian Inaugural Ball. Tex is Chairman of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, and is well-known in Indian Country for his work on behalf of native youth and nations. (see more)

Inaugural Ball Pow Wow

On Saturday we hold our Inaugural Ball Pow Wow in the Arlington Main Ballroom of the Crystal Gateway Marriott with Ralph Zotigh and The Zotigh Singers and The Boyz.  All are welcome, no entry fee. Join us for a Gourd Dance in the afternoon and Grand Entry in the early evening. Our vendor and exhibit hall will be open.
